Exhibition

An exhibition is used to organize a managed display at a branch for a period of time, defined by a start date and optionally an end date. Within the time period the exhibition is called active.

The exhibition’s items are defined by the underlying exhibition group, which determines which items are candidates for the managed display.

A number of locations, where the items are stored, are linked to the exhibition. The available space and stock for the exhibition is calculated based on the number of items in contrast to the normally used width of the items. A minimum and a maximum number of items requested must be specified for the exhibition. A location cannot belong to multiple exhibitions at the same time.

If the exhibition is limited by the total number of items, a minimum and maximum must be given for the total number of items in the exhibition. If the exhibition is limited by the number of titles, a minimum and maximum must be given for the desired number of copies per title, along with the target number of titles in the exhibition.

It is specified for the exhibition, which department items assigned to the exhibition should be assigned to. This can be used to control the subsequent sorting of the items.

The system ensures continuous replenishment for the exhibition if items are missing. This is accomplished in two ways:

At the same time as items are put physically on display, they must be registered to the used locations to ensure they are included in the exhibition’s stock.

The automatic error correction can generate orders to remove items not belonging at the exhibition's locations.

Closed exhibitions

It is possible to specify that an exhibition is closed. For active exhibitions this has several consequences:

Note: If the exhibition is not active, it does not matter whether the exhibition is open or closed.
